Learn more about my newest book, "Designing the Moment"!

Voices That Matter, the conference

I’m very happy to announce I’ll be speaking at “Voices That Matter” web design conference in October.

The event brings together a collection of New Riders authors, including the most creative interactive designer I’ve ever seen, Mr. Brendan Dawes, and legendary author of Don’t Make Me Think and personal hero, Steve Krug.

In what will surely be an interesting twist of perspective while moving from one session to another, Steve Mulder will also be there. Steve is the author of The User Is Always Right: A Practical Guide to Creating and Using Personas for the Web. Since I believe we should avoid personas, and my session will be about redefining User-Centered Design and doing top-notch design work without personas, specs, or even a schedule, it should be pretty interesting to go from my session to Steve’s.

It’s pretty likely we’ll be attending each other’s sessions. I may not believe in personas, but I respect Steve and am interested in learning what he has to say.

Be sure to come to San Francisco in October and check it out.
