Time to vote!

To my fellow US citizens —

As you all know, one of the most important elections in our history will be held tomorrow, November 4th, so I’d like to make one last plea.

If you haven’t already voted, set your alarms. Get up early. Go straight to your polling location and vote.

Don’t assume that your candidate of choice is a sure-thing. Go out and make it happen.

On a personal note, I’d like to extend my hope that you vote for Barack Obama.

Obama has the judgment, intelligence, policy proposals, and the wisdom to turn this country around, whereas John McCain would take the lead on the failed policies of the past 8 years and continue driving the country deeper into the mess it’s already in.

Now’s your chance to make a difference. No election on our lifetimes has been more important than this one.

Get up and vote!

I don’t even live in the US, but to see Obama is to see an amazing consistency. From his books, to his method, to the overall control (and delegation). I’ve rarely seen any CEOs, let alone politicians act this way.

I agree we need to vote!
I can’t believe that you have fallen for Obama’s lines of BS. McCain has nothing to do with Bush. Under Obama the country will be attacked again, redistribution of wealth is unfair to those that work hard for their money, and I already have a God.

Obama may speak eloquently but what he speaks depends souly on his audience. From his association with Ayers, to his own economic policy, to what he said about his energy plan bankrupting coal mines and skyrocketing energy prices. Sorry man…I can’t share the same passion for a guy that only speaks to what the people at the time want to hear. Besides…an all democratic governement is scary (and before you say it…an all republican government would be just as scary).

All I can say to that is … check your facts.

1. McCain voted with Bush over 90% of the time.
2. The country can be attacked regardless of who’s in office, and Al Qaeda see McCain as a Bush equivalent. They’ve even endorsed him.
3. A tax cut for the middle class and increase for the upper class isn’t redistribution—government ownership of banks is, and McCain voted for that just like everyone else did.
4. Obama’s a Christian. And in America, a person has freedom of religion.

Robert,

It’s great that you’re encouraging people to vote! I hope people go out and make their voices heard as well, regardless of if they agree with me (hey, that’s what this whole democracy thing is about!).

Regardless of what happens in the election, it’s a historic occasion; a Black President or a Female Vice-President will help us differentiate ourselves from countries and groups that oppress people because of their gender or skin color.

On another note, although I’m not impressed with either(any?) of our Presidential choices, I am hoping that whoever wins will bring about the “change” that they have been trumpeting about so much in recent weeks… ripping the guts out of our political system, keeping the good parts, and ridding ourselves of the mistakes of the past.

God bless America guys!

-Ben
